Trattoria Funistrada
About
Operating Since 2000
Previous owners Holly & Tom Reay jumped at the opportunity to purchase the building in 2000. Both have fond memories of dining as children with their grandparents at the former Glen Lake Inn. Having worked at multiple dining establishments in the busy ‘seasonal’ area, they felt it was time to bring back that feeling of ‘neighborhood’ dining…offering reservations, & catering to the many local & seasonal families that return to the area generation after generation.
Together w/their daughter Carson & son Thomas III the Reay family is proud of the reputation they’ve built for consistently delicious food in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
In May of 2023, enter some long-time fans who saw the business was for sale and decided to jump in themselves to preserve their favorite spot. Working closely w/the Reays and the Funistrada staff, they will continue to host the same recipes and welcoming atmosphere you’ve known for 23 years. Our 24th season should prove to be one of the best!
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the length of my reservation?
We find that 1.45 is ample time for a relaxing dinner of 6ppl or less. Consequently, we plan our night based on that formula. If you have old friends to catch up with and wish more time, please be sure to mention it when making the reservation so that we can plan otherwise.
Do we have a children’s menu?
We do not. Young children are not recommended.
Can you accommodate large parties?
We do not. We are a small space w/a smaller kitchen. 14 is our limit please.
Do you have to-go food?
We do not. We have enough of a challenge cooking on our 8 burner stove for the seated guests!
Can we accommodate your special diet?
We can…to a point. We take food safety very seriously. If you have an allergy, please point it out to your server so they can alert the kitchen. If you follow a special diet, we may be able to make some substitutions. Often a fee may be applied. Sometimes, the kitchen may say, “No.” Please ask your server. Gluten Free? We do NOT have GF pasta, but many of our entrees can be made w/o. Vegetarian? Options are more limited, but we have a few. Vegan? Short of pasta w/marinara sauce or a large salad…not much to offer.
Can we bring in our own cake?
You can…for a charge. We appreciate special occasions, & employ a pastry chef that works very hard making wonderful desserts that we can put any number of candles in. However, if you wish to bring in your own, a service fee will be applied. Please call ahead for permission & fee estimates.
Can I bring my own wine?
Sorry, but No. We have spent 20 years tasting & exploring the wines of Italy. We feel our list is well rounded, both in price & in variety – from inexpensive quaffing wines, to special celebratory bottles…We’re confident you will find something on our list that you will enjoy! … & remember – you CAN take it with you!
Do you do weddings/rehearsal dinners?
We do not. Our kitchen is simply not large enough for a ‘bulk’ dinner.
